Workshop: In Focus on Media and Gender – Building Common Understanding of Media Analysis as a Precondition for Reconciliation
We facilitated a regional workshop on media and gender, supporting dialogue on reconciliation through media analysis and inclusive storytelling. The session was part of a broader Balkan-wide initiative led by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation.
On July 2, 2023, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Skopje, 3rd Sector Production facilitated the workshop titled:
“In Focus on Media and Gender: Building Common Understanding of Media Analysis as a Precondition for Reconciliation”,
organized by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation (Belgrade, Serbia).
The workshop was part of the “All-Network Meeting – Gender in Media and Politics on a Path of Reconciliation” and was attended by regional media professionals, civil society actors, and youth representatives.
Our role in the workshop included:
Workshop design and content facilitation strategy
Expert delivery by Ognen Janeski, professional moderator, editor, and activist
Engagement-driven methods, promoting dialogue around gender, representation, and media literacy
Bilingual discussion moderation for cross-regional accessibility
The session explored how media narratives influence societal polarization and highlighted the importance of shared analytical frameworks for advancing mutual understanding in post-conflict settings.
Through a dynamic and inclusive approach, we helped foster reflection, critical thinking, and collaboration among participants from across the Western Balkans.
